Eight performers created an explosive rhythm enjoyed by people of all ages around the world in the third decade, extracting sounds from 5 lighters, trash cans, lids and even kitchen sinks.
Urga has been touring the world for more than 30 years, performing more than 20,000 concerts in front of more than 12 million people in 55 countries on 6 continents.
Throughout the show, over 60,000 matchboxes, 40,000 brooms, 30,000 trash cans, 20,000 batons and 35,000 liters of black paint applied with 780 rollers were used.
The show is entirely directed by long-time creative and business partners Luke Cresswell and Steve McNichols.
Luke Ye was born and squandered in Brighton on the south coast for joint theft. A self-taught percussionist, he played the drum again for 9 years of growth and dropped out of school at 15 to pursue a musical career. Cresswell was a session drummer and rhythm programmer for the music group, as well as for Beth Middler and Elvis Costello.
Steve Ye hails from Yorkshire in the north of the United Kingdom. Musician, actor, singer and writer, throughout his career Toyo has worked with a wide variety of groups, including marked, tidy, tidy, tidy and tidy.Back with a chair, Steve Ye Director of Show. In 1994. they were awarded the Laurence Olivier Award for "best theatrical choreography".
Along with Luke, Steve created an orchestral show , which premiered in Brighton in 2006. And in tandem with , this work is a lot of movies and commercials, with the right to modeling prestigious awards and nominations at the Congress In 2010.
Steve and Luke bought in their home town of Brighton and Hove. The venue provides the stage behind eclectic products and reinforcement of local artists. A happy accident helped the friends to become co-owners of the place, where they first introduced themselves together.
In 2015. Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicoll have been awarded honorary doctorates in art from the University of Brighton in recognition of their contributions to music and the Performing Arts.
